FRP Shipping Cases are designed and manufactured in extreme sizes and case configurations, removable lid designs, and hinged clam-shell designs. FRP Shipping Cases and containers are manufactured using proprietary FRP compression molding technology. High impact, light weight, FRP composite components are epoxy bonded to heavy-duty aluminum extrusions. This fabrication method allows ECS to create an extremely large number of case depths from standard compression molding tools.

FRP Fiberglass reinforced thermoset composite materials allow total design flexibility for military and industrial shipping cases. FRP custom cases are the most complex designs and the largest shipping cases manufactured by ECS. Complete in-house design and manufacturing result in superior cases from start to finish.

Extreme Cases


FRP cases and containers are designed and manufactured by ECS using proprietary FRP compression molding technology. High impact, lightweight, FRP composite components are epoxy bonded to heavy-duty aluminum extrusions. This fabrication method allows ECS to create extremely large transportable enclosures for oversized equipment.

    Product Options

    Casters

    		 Casters
    ECS has casters to meet the requirements of a broad range of applications. Casters are selected to match the weight of the loaded case and the surface conditions which the case will experience during use. Standard caster types include rigid mount (with or without brakes), swivel mount (with or without brakes), recessed for shipment and deployable for use, quickly removable, and fixed edge-mounted. Wheel sizes range from 3 to 6 inches, with wheel widths up to 1-3/4 inches.

    Hinges

    		 Hinges
    ECS supplies standard and custom fabricated hinges for many different applications. Most ECS hinges are stainless steel, for which ECS can provide unique hole patterns and mounting features.

  • Piano hinges are available in continuous lengths up to 48-inches.
  • They are available in light weight, medium weight and heavy weight styles.
  • Take apart hinges slip apart to allow quick removal of lids and covers from cases.
  • Stay hinges can be supplied to hold hinged cases open.

    Case stacking options include aluminum stacking feet mounted on the top of the case and extruded aluminum hat-section skid rails mounted on the bottom of the case. Stacking feet engage matching holes in the skid rails for secure case-to-case stackability and may be equipped with stainless steel locking pins, which insure positive attachment. Locking pins can also be supplied with lanyards and stowage receptacles.

    Anodized, extruded aluminum skid rails provide a wear surface for the bottom of FRP composite rackmount cases and also allow for enclosure stackability and case-to-case latching ability. Skid rails may be equipped with high density polyethylene rub strips to eliminate abrasive wear. Low profile skid rails are used on 3000 series rackmount cases, and all other FRP composite rackmount cases are equipped with taller, standard height skid rails.

    Individual cushion designs are created by ECS engineers to satisfy the shock and vibration protection requirements of each piece of equipment in an ECS case.
